They Are Laughing At You Behind Your Back - 2004-11-13 |
2003-02-05 - 11:06 p.m.
Second Class
I told you it was odd. We all laughed a lot. It is very silly and it puts us all on an even playing field. I got one laugh tonight. We were doing a scene where we told an entire story in just three sentences. There was one girl in the class who had not been up on the stage all night so I made her go up with me. Turns out she was being so reserved tonight because she had been thrown from a horse this past weekend and was too sore to move much. But I made her do it anyway. I started the scene. Sentence 1: Madam, I have fixed your dishwasher. Sentence 2: What is that stuff leaking out of the bottom? Sentence 3: Why, that's the soapy goodness! It didn’t' even make sense but everyone laughed anyway. Some of the other folks made me laugh very hard tonight. Two people had to speak with one voice. It was hilarious watching them try to figure out what the other was trying to say. When I leave work I am tired and out of energy. When I leave the class I am energized and my mind is charged up. I'm going to try to see some of the improv shows this theater does every week. Jimmy
