Destiny Of Souls

Is everyone in a better mood these days or is it just me?  Everyone at work is acting all happy.  Friends and family are chipper.  It is still winter, so I can't say it is a change in seasons.  I don't know what it is, but I like it.  And I can even tell the difference in my own attitude.  I figured it was because I finally got a week off from work and was finally well rested.

I just finished reading a book I really liked.  It is called Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton, Ph.D.  It is about what happens to us when we die and before we come back to a new body in a new life.  When I first started reading it I was put off because it is so new age, but the more I read it the more sense it made.

When I was a boy I read books about reincarnation and past life regression.  It always made sense to me that I have been here before and that I had chosen this life to live for various reasons.  I was an introspective and sensitive kid.  When I would talk about this stuff with the other kids back then they didn't know what to think of me.  Most thought I was just making it all up.

Newton is a hypnotherapist who has been helping people for years by giving them perspective on their current lives by showing them a larger picture of existence.  Under hypnosis these people are able to enter a state of superconsciousness and recall events from past lives, past deaths and the time their souls spent in the hereafter learning and working.

Some of the souls are newer than others.  Many independently describe similar events of being counseled by guides, meeting up with old friends, reviewing past experiences on Earth and other places, and choosing a new body.

After reading it I feel so much calmer.  All of the past heartache and disappointments make more sense.  The choices I made, the choices I had, the people I have interacted with, the patters are more apparent now.  Why am I the way I am?  How did I wind up here?  What have I got to learn?  What have I learned so far?

I have met some amazing people.  It is incredible that each one of us comes from the same place.  Each one of us has a soul.  It is so easy to take that for granted.

I hope I have made some real progress in this life.  I feel like I have and I think I am on the right track, but I have so much more to do.  That is why I want to live to be very, very old.  I want this life to last me for a while.  I have been subconsciously pacing myself all my life.  I was aware of this at an early age.

Man, I have been very lucky.  There have been so many people who have influenced me in so many ways.  There has always been someone there to give me new information or encouragement just when I needed it.

I think I'll stop here.  It has been a long day and I am not making much sense.

Tomorrow I go to my improv class.  I'm looking forward to it.
